Program:? Schematics Quiz and Traffic Handling/Passing – Jim

In Part 1, we went over header and message for passing messages.  Part 2, Jim spoke about how to shorten up messages. Keep it to pertinent information only, keep it simple. Record as transmitted and pass as recorded.

Schematic quiz was given by Jim.  Three circuits were presented using standard schematic symbols with the goal to name specified symbols in each circuit. Great review and learning experience.

440 – Need venture to hospital to remove amplifier and other items. Check out radio. Need three people minimum.

VE Testing:? November 25, 2017 – 9AM @ the Allegan Hospital Cafeteria. Price is $15 + two forms of identification or a copy of your current license – Contact Randy MacNeill (W8RMN) for next test session information

Allegan County SAR? – Second wednesday of month December through May. 12/13, 1/10, 2/14, 3/14, 4/11, 5/9. Allegan County Sheriff Department. Officer elections in December. Must have been present for 1 year of meetings.

Allegan County ARPSC? – Thursday at EOC, 7pm, 11/17. Looking for volunteers for comms for various events, skywarn weather spotters, etc.

House of Bill Sempert, SK, was sold.  New owner, Jordan Dickerson (919-691-5721) is looking for appraisal of two towers and beam antenna to be taken down and sold.  Towers and antenna are located at 557 Sherman St, Allegan, MI

Reminder – If you are about to renew or Join the ARRL our club has a chance to earn some extra money due to our ARRL affiliation. By submitting your membership moneys thru the club – We can keep either $2(renew) or $15 (New or not a member for 2 years) – Bring Your renewals and Check made out to the Allegan County Amateur Radio Club to the next meeting. WB3LHU has the forms if anyone is interested.

Additional Suggestions from 11-APR-2017 meeting included: Darren, through prompting from Shawn, how the inner workings of the radio work – Jim suggested block diagrams. Darren also asked about explaining Propagation. Wes asked about: Digital modes: PSK, JT65, Slow-scan TV. How to setup your equipment.
